It was only a year ago when everyone else seemed to have a romance with Samsung and every Galaxy gadget that arrived on earth was met with joy and great excitement. I'm not quite certain why everyone was in love with Samsung only a year ago and the lust seems to have died down (almost entirely) as I am writing this.

The Galaxy SIV was unveiled amidst massive hype and huge advertising budget but revenue numbers have thus far been lacklustre. Lately, the Galaxy note phablet was rejuvenated with the newest generation - Note 3 - but I guess it has caught you unaware as very few bloggers elect to review it.

I'm not implying that I am a loyalist of Samsung however in the past month or two, I've been seeing a great deal of good stuff concerning the Note 2. A year ago, I was really craving for it but wasn't able to do so because my contract wasn't up for renewal yet. As a consolation, I told myself that if Note 2 is actually good, there'll always be Note 3 which (in theory) must be better and more exciting. Since my contract is almost up and time for decision making, I discovered Note 3 to be more than a little disappointment. Almost no one wants to talk about it and there can only be one reason for that and it's none other than lousy product. I am trying hard to change my perspective as I've been seeing so many of my friends using Note II and they are all happy about it making me think that this phablet is probably the only best alternative to iPhone.

So, what should I buy? Adhere to my initial plan and buy a Note 3? Or choose LG Optimus Vu?

G-shock watches are interchangeable to tough watches and they all have the same discussions although they can be otherwise unique in making and design. Even decades after it was initially introduced, no other watch maker can topple G-Shock as the king of tough watches. If you can experiment with options, one would discover other tough watches than G-Shock. While they are tough watch makers their focus is not based on making world's most solid watches as for the case of G-shock whose major concentration is on making ruggedness and sleekness go together. You will be surprised that even in niches like military uses, there are a number of alternatives available.

The need of  Time Keeping is very universal, or so the usage of watches could be forever. You can also see the attire style or dress code that is suitable to your watch may be different from time to time. The camouflage of the uniform is the chief thing to be considered while making watches that are expressly meant for individuals in armed forces. This is why G-Shock military inspired series generally take on colors for example olive green, gray or navy blue. Again, the watches that are intended to be worn with gowns are usually of silver or golden color to add glitz and sparkle to one's dress.

The cost one should pay for buying the tough watch is completely dependent on the model one selects. The tendency in addition to the design of tough watches does not change very frequently but it wouldn't remain the same forever. If you're purchasing a tough watch which includes the latest fashion and state-of-theart technology, you definitely have to spend a premium. But, there is an exception to the rule. Certain watch makers such as Luminox always have limited edition series. The that cost you pay to buy a limited edition watch today will be less than that which it will be worth in the future

It's important consider the several things before deciding to buy a tough watch. The most vital concerns are watch movement and the strap material. Tough watches straps are composed of a mixture of numerous different materials. Titanium and stainless steel are popular watch materials; although they accentuate the look of tough watches they are not the greatest for the military niche. That is why most military watches use resin type of material that can take on different camo colors. Watch straps should hold tightly and comfortably but not too tightly on the wrist to enhance its lifetime especially during a fall. That's the reason it's necessary to read demanding watches reviews prior to making your choice. It is not easy to get the toughest watch for your demand without reading demanding watches reviews.

In conclusion, choosing the right watch that best fits your personality and demand needs you to do some assignments. There's the widest range of tough watches and one can just come to learn and know about them by going through reviews that are available on the marketplace as a vital step of the procedure. Be sure to are clear about your own personal need so you know what things to watch out for. If the consideration for purchasing a watch may be the toughest type on the planet afterward Casio G-Shock would be the first and clear consideration. There are other watch makers available in the market like military watches for those who find G-Shocker watches to be too boring and bulky. Do not always envision that military watches are the toughest you can get in the market. No, they're not. As a last note, a tough watch will last you for several years so don't try to skimp on that one.

While you are looking for a brand new watch, you will be asking many questions however this concern is the question which almost every timepiece hunters would definitely be asking. Suppose you're intending to buy one, then perhaps you would also catch yourself asking the same. Well then, you are on the right track. It simply demonstrates that you are aware of the fundamental features and issues you have to pay attention to in shopping for a wristwatch.

Mechanical and Quartz pieces, are to begin with, deemed as two different species. The earlier requires no battery to work while the second is powered by battery to work. The following question that you might be wondering is the physical process employed in automatic timepieces. They have an a bunch of inter-connected hardware pieces which rotate with the motions of your hand that in turn facilitate the working of these timepieces. That means, if you decide not to wear the wristwatch for a prolonged period, then your automatic watch would draw to a halt, so most probably you would have to reset it if you wish to use it again. When you put it on and begin to move, the mechanical energy introduced systematically activates the mechanical elements within to get going again.

The ticking sound which is the most common and well-loved attribute of automatic wristwatch lover is caused by the physical movement of the parts. While such tick may go overlooked by beginner, this has been the single most important trait of mechanical watches that happens to be genuinely relished by enthusiasts of mechanical wristwatches. Suppose you question them, they might simply tell you that the sound produced by the hand movement is just fascinating. In specific watches, you would even look through the numerous hardware components. Aside from the beautiful antique aesthetics that it projects out, simply observing the components move and tick can bring delight to anyone who knows how to appreciate it.

Something you should be clear of is the level of precision that you end up getting from an mechanical watch in comparison with a quartz model. More often than not, they lag behind by ten seconds every day could mean significant impact on its reliability. You would perhaps opt to don it daily and after one month, it can easily be trailing by 5 minutes. If reliability is important to you, then it might be better for you to go for a battery-operated quartz wristwatch.

If you believe that you are a quartz guy, prepare yourself to be overloaded by the sizeable options available in the market. You will need to know precisely what it is that you are looking for otherwise the probability is high that you will be overwhelmeed with choices. However, if you're aiming for a watch that is both trendy and long lasting, maybe you need to check out Diesel timepieces.

Still, finding the finest mechanical wristwatch may be a little frustrating. Admittedly, you may be able to come across few automatic wristwatch for less than $500 but then you can be assured that they are not of top-notch quality. One important thing about mechanical timepieces is that people really value their wristwatches and in most cases, will pass it down to their children and future generations. If several hundreds of bucks is sufficient to buy you excellent battery-powered watches, you easily need to fork out thousands of dollars to afford a really solid automatic watch. However, you do not have to place yourself in such dilemma and utilize that extra money for other worthwhile things instead. For pragmatic purposes, Diesel watch is genuinely recommended and make good everyday use as well.

As to why an automatic or mechanical timepiece can fetch outrageous price tag is usually being a result of the skill and craftmanship of the maker that crafted the watch. Assembling those tiny bits and pieces of metals and guarantee that they operate as one is in no way a simple feat. This is the prevailing rationale why people are prepared to put a very high price tag on automatic wristwatches but not on quartz wristwatches.

A watch or a time keeping device or a time piece. They are all referring to the same thing. When we talk about watches, the de facto meaning we are talking about is wrist watches. Initially invented as a way to tell time and help us, humans, organize among ourselves, wrist watches have grow into much bigger than merely a time keeping assistant. While the basic functionality of keeping track of time still remains, watches have turned to become a symbol of personality, character and flair of taste.

Because of the role that our watch plays other than a time keeper, hence the term fashion watch is coined. What does fashion watch mean? How does it different from ordinary watches? You can view the answer from a rather simplistic point of view. Today's world is a divided world. Each and everyone of us has our own unique taste. We have different definition when it comes to almost anything in life. This is the basic nature and this is what defines us as humans. And it is this fundamental traits that sets us apart from other creatures. It is our differences that makes the world dynamic, vibrant and non-homogenous.
In the world of watches, there is of course the group of people who are deeply passionate about watches. There is always the group of people with unwavering interest in the core technologies that makes a watch tick. To these groups of people, the quality and components that go into a watch is above everything else. These groups of people have very different definition of what is considered a real watch and what is considered a 'toy' watch.
On the other hand, there is always the group of people who are deeply passionate about look and fashion. This group of people are highly sensitive towards fashion and styles. The color of your clothes. The matching tops and bottom. The hairstyle. The nitty gritty every small things attached to your body. To these people, a watch is part of the overall fashion accessories and it has to be matching with the rest. To strike a balance between the two extreme, then comes the term fashion watch to describe such watches.
Fashion watches are usually sold by renowned designer labels with the likes of Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, Guess, Nautica and Armani Exchange watches. Each designer label has their own pool of followers and even cult-like fans. Such brand loyalty could be due to the marketing message or it could also be due to individual experience with the brands. It could also be due to the style and cutting of the brand. Therefore, if you are a fan of the A|X brand, you would look out for Armani Exchange watches if you are looking for a new watch. The reason is pretty simple. You are familiar with the brand. You like the image coming out of the brand. And you are somehow confident that the watches produced by the brand will be of good quality.
Some of these assumptions are true and some are not. For example, the common misconception that a fine clothing label would definitely make fine watches is utterly baseless in my opinion. So when you are looking for a fashion watch, be mindful that even a watch that bears say Armani Exchange label on it, may not be made by the brand itself. In this case, it is good to know that Armani Exchange watches are in fact manufactured by Fossil Inc.
This might sound like a simplified argument to a complex issue. But the same analysis can be applied to generally any fashion watch brands and I bet you will end up with the same conclusion.

As adventure lovers, we love to be in the wild. We love to be close to Mother Nature. We love to interact with wild lives, floras and faunas. I have recently found out that one other hobby of mine is nature trailing. 5 days a week, day in and day out, I am sitting behind the office desk. I found going back to nature is one effective way to release all my steam. As a new adventure lover, I'm not yet clear what kind of specific outdoor activities I love the most.

I've tried cycling, the cheapest and easiest form of outdoor adventure to pick up. I've been on three biking trails and I seem to be enjoying it each time. But I'm not yet sure if this is the one and only form of outdoor activity that I am suitable for. I've been on a fly fishing trip and I found the experience fascinating. While it seems like a simple task, there is so much you need to understand if you want your fly fishing trip to end up in no futile. Thanks to a buddy of mine who happens to know a thing or two about fly fishing. I've picked up few simple basics about fly fishing and I'm looking forward to my next trip with him.

While starting out with my new found hobby, I found that there are few important information that we need to have on our finger tips. Compass is definitely a must have. I know GPS navigation system is common nowadays, but there are always occassions when you find having a compass to tell you the North-South-East-West direction is very useful. Another thing is when you are out on the wild, you might not even have access to a GPS navigation system. You may argue that a phone is always by our side these days. If you have the kind of thinking, it shows how little you have been on the wild or maybe, you are not a really ardent adventure seekers.

Casio Pathfinder watches

When you set out on an outdoor adventure, you might not even have access to electricity. You may carry a spare battery extension for your phone, but for how long will it last? And for me personally, I love to switch my phone off when I'm out in the wild. I just want to enjoy every moment without being interrupted. That is when you would find a watch to be the your best assistant.

I did a little research on what kind of watches are specifically designed for adventure seekers. There are a number of them, but I eventually settle with Casio and its Casio Pathfinder or Casio ProTrek series. Casio Pathfinder watches are fantastic because they come with 3 types of sensors, all in a single wrist watch. You get an Altimeter, Barometer and Compass sensors in a single tiny device that you can attach on your wrist.

Initially, I was a little confused about the naming. I was wondering how Casio Pathfinder differs from Protrek. After some further reading, I found the two to be of the same thing. I tried to find the ladies collection of Casio pathfinder watches but eventually gave up. It seems that there is none. In the end, I decided to go with the PAG80-1V model. While it does not look feminine at all, it is what I considered to be the most feminine of all the Casio pathfinder watches on sale out there.

That's it. I've just added a new watch into my watch gallery :). Wish me luck in discovering my next life obssession.

Have you ever wondered why fireflies glow in the dark? The light that we see coming out from fireflies is the result from a process called bioluminescence. While fireflies is the most commonly associate fauna with natural glowing light, such phenomena does exist in many other living organisms too. The reason why we take less note of them is because they are mainly sea or marine organisms that we tend to encounter less often. I see it as one of God's finest creation. As these organisms live deep down in the sea bed, away from the sunlight, there has to be a replacement for source of light, other than the sun.

The Casio Illuminator technology was invented based on similar inspirations. Prior to the Casio illuminator invention, it was problematic to read time from the wrist watches, especially when there is no source of light. We, humans, like to go for outdoor adventure and too often, we need to read the time on our watch say in the middle of the night. Then we like to explore the ocean and dive deep down. The deeper we go, the lesser amount of sunlight there will be and the more difficult it is to read the time on our wrist watch.
The Casio Illuminator was first introduced in 1995. The first Casio watch that was built with the Casio illuminator capability was the G-Shock DW5600E. Following the success and massive demand for such feature, the Casio illuminator technology is now found in almost every Casio watches. One thing for sure is all G-Shock and Baby-G watches would definitely come with this 'basic' capability.
Despite being the more popular name when it comes to LED backlight technology made for watches, Casio turns out to be not the first who invented this technology. It turned out that Timex was the first to make this LED backlight feature available in wrist watches. It is better known as the Timex Indiglo. Today, Timex is selling its Timex Indiglo capability to other watch makers. So, the next time you get yourself a illuminating watch, it is more likely to be powered by Timex Indiglo rather than Casio Illuminator.
Casio Illuminator watches

Nonetheless, it is not clear even until today which of the two technologies are more superior or even if there is any difference at all. Both Casio and Timex have had long history and they are both known as fine watch brands. Casio originates from Japan while Timex has its origin in Dutch. While both has long history of watch making, they differ in focus and reputation. Timex is today known more for its sports watches that are inclined towards marathon or triathlon runners. Casio, on the other hand, is more diverse. It is known for toughness with its G-Shock line of watches. It is also known for outdoor enthusiast with its Casio pathfinder watches. There are many other types of Casio watches.

But if buy any Casio watch today, there is a good chance that they will come with the LED backlighting powered by the Casio illuminator technology.

Note: This is a guest post from my friend, Pipe. Pipe is a Casio watch enthusiast and a Casio watch fanatic. Thanks Pipe for this guest post.

Have you ever heard the term art deco? I was bewildered when I came across with the term for the first time. The term itself is not self-explanatory. Art + deco? Is that supposed to mean art decoratives? A simple google search led me to the actual origin of the term art deco itself. It turned out that the term was initially used by the French. It was used early in 1900s. The term is used to describe any kind of art pieces that embelish traditional design patterns but produced with the latest or most sophisticated technology. That is the meaning carried by art deco.

While the French were the one who started the art deco culture, more Americans are in love with this art style. Miami, a city in Florida, is where the largest number of art deco buildings are found. This should not be surprising at all. Given that Miami has been serving as the gateway to the latin America, the demographics of the Miami population are considered to be among the most diverse in the world. Migrants from latin America countries such as Puerto Rico, Cuba and Venenzuela have made their way into Miami. Not few of them have settled for few generations now. An art deco district has been set up in Miami. In this district, you can find homes of different colors and styles, inspired by the different migrant cultures and traditions.

The Miami's Art deco culture is the inspiration behind Michele watches. Sorry guys, Michele watches are reserved for ladies only. From the name of it, I don't think any guy would want to a watch on their wrist that bears the name 'Michele'. Right guys? As they are designed exclusively for ladies, you can expect feminine watch design without compromise. This is unlike other fashion watches that are made for both men and women. If you are looking for a couple watch, then Michele watches are not for you. You're better off with other brands. I know Casio produces a special pair of lover watches every year.

Diamonds are women's best friend. Since venus is the primary market for Michele watches, they are designed to be women's best friend. Every Michele watch model is decorated with diamonds that adds sparkle and glamour the the time piece. The real genius behind Michele design team, in my opinion, is the ability to produce a watch so luxurious but yet highly flexible. The strap on every Michele watch can be taken on and off with a breeze. I was skeptical at the beginning. It was only after I tried it first hand to be really convinced that they really work.
michele watches on sale

Come on, ladies. We have to admit that we are a creature that gets easily bored with stuffs, right? That's why we have dozen pairs of shoes, dozens of dresses (that we occasionally wear) and dozens of earrings. With the flexible strap changing option that Michele watch offers, you can probably reduce the number of watches lining up in your wardrobe. Instead, you can buy few different straps and change to the one that suits your attire of the day easily.

Do you think Michele watches are great? Are you thinking of buying one? Let me know in the comments below.
